An estimated 3 million individuals make up the Ethiopian diaspora (Ethiopians living outside of the country). The orphan crisis in Ethiopia is growing due several factors such as extreme poverty, unrest, and displacement. Shamida exists to give hope and opportunities to these children through our various programs. The “1 for One” campaign aims to mobilize Ethiopians abroad to simply give $1 on behalf of ONE child to be impacted through Shamida’s work.
